Tsinghua Alumni Association Carbon Neutrality Committee (to be established) Held "Resource Recycling" Special Salon

Carbon neutrality, the new energy industry has developed rapidly, accompanied by a large number of retired power batteries, photovoltaic modules, fan blades and other emerging industrial wastes. How to efficiently realize the recycling of resources, promote the collaborative carbon reduction of the whole industry chain and build a circular economy system has become a hot topic in the industry. On July 26,Tsinghua Alumni Association Carbon Neutrality Committee (in preparation) successfully held a special salon on "Resource Recycling". The event was held in the Beijing office of Beijing Xinyi Resources Technology Co., Ltd., and was co-organized by alumni enterprise North Star Advanced Recycling Technology (Qingdao) Co., Ltd..

This salon event brings together university scholars, industry experts, investment institutions, and industry representatives to form an interdisciplinary and cross-industry exchange matrix. The theme sharing covers the focus direction of resource recycling in the field of decommissioned power battery recycling, and carries out experience sharing and thinking collision from the perspectives of technology, policy and investment, explores the key role of resource recycling in achieving the vision of carbon neutrality, and explores practical solutions to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality.

Theme sharing was opened by a wonderful report by Professor Xu Shengming of Tsinghua University. Professor Xu introduced the basic situation of the retired power battery recycling industry, as well as the development status and future trend of the retired power battery recycling technology. Subsequently, Roxie, deputy general manager of Beijing Xinyi Resources Technology Co., Ltd., elaborated on the overall situation of Beijing Xinyi and its layout in the field of waste recycling; zhang Xihua, an expert from the solid waste Management Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and an associate researcher at Shanghai second Polytechnic University, introduced the relevant management policies, laws and regulations of waste in the new energy industry.

 

Then introduced the situation of their respective enterprises, emphasized the importance of the direction of resource recycling in the new energy industry, and shared the investment strategy and investment judgment criteria of the circular economy industry.

 

Theme sharing also invited Guo Wei, senior digital consultant of Siemens China Factory Automation Division, who shared Siemens' digital solutions in the field of recycling and how to help recycling enterprises develop efficiently. Dr. Zhu Heng, head of application technology research and development in Asia Pacific region of Linde Group, also a foreign enterprise, shared the application of Linde gas technology in resource recycling and energy saving and carbon reduction.

 

Dr. Zhang Tao, chairman and general manager of North Star Recycling, the co-organizer of this event, introduced in detail the technical challenges faced by the current retired power battery recycling industry and the overall solution of Beichen Circulation in the field of resource recycling. Finally, postdoctoral Ge Linhan of Tsinghua University introduced the importance of carbon management in the recycling process of retired power batteries, as well as the challenges and solutions encountered in the process of carbon emission accounting, process optimization and emission reduction value.

 

Wonderful theme sharing led to a lively exchange of links.

Commented on the views of carbon footprint accounting and carbon asset development in the battery recycling process, and believed that the natural premium of low-carbon recycled materials produced by tapping low-carbon recycling technology may be a better market regulation mechanism than carbon asset development in the battery recycling process. Alumni and guests also discussed the safety and environmental challenges faced in the recycling process of decommissioned power batteries, dr. Zhang Tao, founder of North Star Recycling, believes that as an alumnus of Tsinghua University, in the process of recycling technology research and development, we should uphold the highest safety and environmental protection standards, develop first-class products and technologies, create industry benchmarks, and lead the industry's technological development direction.

Exchange, some alumni entrepreneurs also had in-depth exchanges with investors on the strategic development issues encountered in the entrepreneurial process. Subsequently, the topic of discussion gradually expanded to artificial intelligence, the application of big data in circular economy and carbon management, and green fuels. The whole process of exchange and discussion was in full swing, and the alumni actively shared their unique insights and experiences in different fields. At the end of the activity, everyone was still not satisfied.

 

Driven by the development of the times, resource recycling has become the core of the development of green economy, and many alumni have actively devoted themselves to this great cause from different fields. The Carbon Neutrality Committee of the Tsinghua University Alumni Association stated that it will continue to promote cooperation and collaboration in this field, encourage more Tsinghua alumni to join, use the advantages of the alumni network to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation, and promote alumni information sharing and resource integration. Build a bridge for in-depth cooperation between industry, academic research and capital, provide opportunities for cross-field cooperation, help the healthy and rapid development of the resource recycling industry, and achieve the goal of carbon neutrality as soon.
